The equivelant of Facebook but for the local geographic community. LocalEyes aims to become a comprehensive community resource for all communities enabling people to easily connect to groups, skills, local products, businesses, promotions, car sharing, events, news etc.

LocalEyes is jam packed with lots of community building tools, one of which is called VocalEyes. VocalEyes is a democratic infrastructure for all communities in the UK, with pilots currently underway funded by Somerset County Council and The Ministry of Justice under a scheme called "Building Democracy".

LocalEyes was hailed as "The One To Watch" in Gordon Brown's social innovation competition 2008 (The Catalyst Awards). With funding from NESTA, a business plan to enable a nationwide rollout has been created.

Numerous Transition initiatives are gearing up to pilot LocalEyes as a means to engaging and empowering people in building sustainable and resilient communities in the face of "Peak Oil" and "Climate Change".
